Creating a new blog is always fun. The difficult part is sustaining the enthusiasm. I guess I know it all too well as I already have some 10 different blogs some of which have gone defunct long back.
Anyway, the purpose of this blog is pretty simple. I am mad about marketing. I find it intriguing to try and convince people to try a particular product and service. As somebody said, Marketing is all about selling a particular product or service to the consumer when he needs it at a place where he wants and at a price he would like to pay for it.
People spend lifetimes spending to achieve this simple principle. In this process also comes another important phenomenon called advertising. I guess the earliest form of advertising started with naming a person. It was done to differentiate one person from another and the objective of advertising is also pretty similar. Tell the people who are most likely to buy your product, features which are most likely to appeal to them and features which set it apart from other similar products.
It is as simple as telling an interesting story in very little time. Some stories appeal to us and some don't. But irrespective of that, having been a part of this story making exercise, I understand that a lot of thought goes into this story making.
This blog is an attempt to possibly look at the thinking that would have gone behind making such stories. Some of them are good, some of them are bad, some of them make us laugh, some of them make us senti; but trust me, everything is done for a reason. So join me in exploring the thought processes that would have gone in making these stories.
